January's Monthly Potluck was held Sunday, January 5 in Citrus Heights.   Photos are here.  Mark your calendar now to attend in February on Feb. 2 in East Sacramento at Adair's house.

Are you interested in Acupuncture?  Dr.Susan Wang, L.Ac., Ph.D, is a professional acupuncturist & Chinese herbal medicine doctor who recently relocated here in the Valley after practicing in the San Francisco Bay Area for 12 years.  She was at our January 5 potluck, and is offering a  special holiday 50% discount off the price of a new patient's first acupuncture treatment.   You may contact her at 916-489-8968.  Her office is at 4563 Winding Way (at Pasadena) Sacramento, CA 95841.  Discount is good through January 31 only.

Special Weekend International Raw Food Weekend Workshop with an emphasis on how to create delicious International Foods (Indian, Chinese, Japanese, Italian, Thai) February 8, 9.    (You may attend one or both days).  Reserve now, as this event will fill up soon.

Victoria Boutenko had booked to bring her "12 Steps to Raw Foods"  weekend workshop to Sacramento the weekend of March 1-2, but has had to postpone until some time in May.  Stay tuned for further details.  The format will be introductory (and cheap) dinners on the Thursday and Friday before, followed by the weekend workshop.  All meals are provided.  As of now we do not have a place to host this event.  Please contact Mark immediately if you have a suggestion.

I call attention to events posted this month, especially the Monday night series "Get Healthy & Stay Balanced."  I attended last week and found the program excellent.    If you show up a little early with a simple raw dish you'll find an impromptu potluck.

I give each of you a special New Year's Greeting as we enter 2003.  Why not make 2003 the best year you and your health have ever had?  Only you can make the changes necessary to live in vibrant health.  Come join us at the above activities and you will receive some encouragement, fun, great food, and make new friends!

If you live in the USA and still drink dairy products thinking they are safe, you should read this.  (Submitted by member Kim Berry).  "Here you will find behind-the-scenes details about how a large share of America’s milk supply has quietly become adulterated with the effects of a synthetic hormone (bovine growth hormone, or BGH) secretly injected into cows…and how pressure from the hormone maker Monsanto led Fox TV to fire two of its award-winning reporters and sweep under the rug much of what they discovered but were never allowed to broadcast."

Our member Cindy Soliz left Sacramento last Wednesday for Costa Rica.  She plans to live there with her 2 children for at least a year.  Good luck, Cindy!
