Rhio and Leigh Raw Valentine Party in Sacramento
Rhio may be known to
many of you as she has published a great Raw Recipe Guidebook, "Hooked
on Raw." . She and her musician partner, Leigh would like to make a
presentation and demo in Sacramento on February 11. I no longer have the
time to find meeting locations for events of this nature. If anyone could
help secure a location that would be suitable, we can have them come.
I need to have this arranged within the next 2 weeks, or I will cancel.
Location needed would require a room that would legally fit at least 35 and
ideally more like 60 people. It would have kitchen facilities.
It would have adequate parking, restrooms, etc. Do you have a conference
room at your office? A clubhouse at your condo or apartment? A
church, business or non-profit organization that would let you use their
facility? Our intended date would be Friday February 11, but could be plus
or minus 1 day. We used to hold more of these special events with guest
speakers, and many of you have requested more. Be a hero & make it happen!
Contact Mark at once if you can help.
Do you need regular Raw Food Motivation? Your Ship has come in!
Beginning this Monday, January 10 for ten weeks, Brenda Kent, a woman with a
beautiful heart of service begins her 5th iteration of an outstanding 10-week
class on healthy living. I have attended the full seminar twice and
consider it a terrific resource to anyone needing to learn more about how they
can be happier and healthier. Read about it
here. Many thanks to Brenda Kent!
Do you know anyone who needs better health? Duh! Of course you
do. However, some folks probably could not make the transition to a raw
lifestyle if their life depended upon it! Some folks are too mainstream.
Should they be left out in the cold? Of course not! My own Mother
will most likely never go raw, but she needs all the help she can get to improve
her health. An outstanding opportunity exists in Sacramento to attend the
CHIP program. CHIP is an acronym for Coronary Health Improvement
Project, a program conceived by
Dr. Hans Diehl.
Over half the people you know and love will die of coronary disease. How
can you help them? Tell them about CHIP. This is an intensive 4-week program that will scare the cholesterol out of you,
and offer practical examples of how to regain control of your health and life.
This program is conducted in cooperation with the Adventist Health organization,
affiliated with the Seventh Day Adventist Church. This program
advocates a healthy vegan diet, and is conducted all over the country.
Read Page 1 or
Page 2 of their Sacramento brochure. (To
print it out, you may need to set your printer dialog to print in landscape
rather than portrait mode). Who have you recently
met that might be interested in healthier living? I just had a man
call me this week who I worked with 3 years ago. We often would take the
stairs up several floors to attend meetings. He always marveled that I
could quickly climb several flights without being breathless. He & his
wife are seriously overweight and wondered whether I knew anything that could
help! I said, well, I've lost 45 lbs., my dear friend Pam has lost 100
lbs., my other dear friend Marilyn has lost
over 173 lbs. , and Dave Rogers has lost almost 200 lbs. We are all eating
mostly raw. Yes, I think I know something that might help you! Help someone!
Forward a copy of this newsletter to them. Invite them to a potluck or
class!
Sungazing and Dental Regeneration (Vinny
Pinto) I have done a fair
amount of researching on alternative health modalities. I find 2 of the
more interesting sites I've explored and read are both assembled by Vinny Pinto
of Maryland, USA.
Sungazing
is an ancient art including both spiritual and mind/body connections.
While difficult to do this properly in some climates (it requires standing on
the ground barefoot), it has growing adherents who feel greatly elevated energy
or "prana." This practice is normally done as the sun is rising and
therefore is not able to harm the eyes. (DO NOT GAZE at the sun when it is
overhead)! Some of the adherents claim to eat nothing or very little
(like breatharians). Melatonin, an essential hormone is created by
the pineal gland when sufficient sunlight enters the eyes. Many US
teenagers who are unable to wake up in the morning can be quickly rehabilitated
if they look at the sunlight in the early morning. Starting a day with
sungazing is for many a very energizing, theraputic practice.
Dental Regeneration if you are suffering any dental issues, you might find
this site helpful. Many of us are familiar with the Boutenko family.
This site mentions the spontaneous regeneration of a tooth experience by Sergei
Boutenko. Raw Nanny Needed in Los Angeles
Message: 1 Are you Eating too much Fruit? A couple months ago I wrote
an article about how green vegetables are
the most healing foods we can eat (or juice). During my first 5 years
eating 99% raw, I followed the advice of Dr. Doug Graham, and ate about 80%
fruit. Without going into all the reasons why I feel this was problematic,
my impression, and the impression of many others who followed this advice
is....it can be dangerous! Dr. Doug Graham is an athlete who
conservatively engages in daily physical activity equivalent to running 10 miles
a day. With his body's need for simple sugars for energy, he has
thrived on a diet that would be far from ideal for most of us. While he is
absolutely one of the kindest, healthiest people I've ever met, and quite
possibly the healthiest human I've ever met, I do not agree with his nutritional
advice. I have found that what has worked for Dr. Graham is not working
very well for lots of others. Just one frequently mentioned problem for
people consuming a high percentage of fruit is dental trouble (see
dental regeneration article & link on this page).
I note with interest that in Rhio's latest newsletter she mentions that her next
issue will include several testimonials from people who have gotten poor results
eating a high percentage of fruit. I believe eating at least 70%
vegetables, and 10-20% fruit is about right. Do not eat more than 10%
nuts. Dr. Robert O. Young has written
several great books on maintaining blood PH as a necessary ingredient to
health. He scoffs at the dominant germ theory of disease. He highly
recommends eating no fruit at all if you have any health issues at all.
Hippocrates Health Institute also recommends eating almost no fruit. Fruit
available in the USA is highly deficient---it is picked way too soon, and
therefore is unable to mature properly with the proper nutrient balance.
Almost all soils in the USA are dead having no microorganisms. These
were all poisoned years ago by chemical fertilizers. The only fruit you
should eat is fruit you pick yourself off the tree when it is ripe!
For this reason I planted 10 fruit trees in my 2 backyards in 2000.
This past year in particular, I have enjoyed wonderful tree ripened figs,
persimmons, lemons, nectarines, and apricots. But, I have sought to never
eat more than 20% fruit (by volume) in any given day. Those needing
immediate health improvement are warned by both Brian Clement at Hippocrates and
Dr. Young to avoid carrots & beets, both high on the glycemic index. I
have also quit using all sweeteners except Stevia, which rates 0 on the glycemic
index. Dr. Young makes the case that all forms of sugars, fruits, and even
the root vegetables that rate high on the glycemic index should be avoided
wherever practical as they will feed and increase the yeasts and ferments within
the blood and tissues, which in turn give off toxic waste materials, further
toxifying us and damaging tissues. As I have been putting Dr. Young's
recommendations to work, I am finding good results. If you have an interest in how the word "organic" is
becoming a bit useless read this great article from an East Bay Publication:
