Newsletter to Raw Sacramento Monday,  March 24,  2003

3 Important items today:

1.  My dear Jewish raw food associate Robin Silberman is offering 2 events, including a Raw Food Passover Seder in April to be held in Berkeley.

2.  I forgot to mention in our last newsletter that Brenda Kent is again offering her "Get Healthy & Stay Balanced" seminar held for 10 weeks on Monday nights.  This has been an excellent class.  In this, her second offering, Brenda will be placing greater emphasis on raw food demos.  This class is produced jointly with Hallelujah Acres, a Christian ministry that promotes a 'mostly' raw diet.  Their videos and materials are superb.  I encourage everyone to attend.  This is a very motivating seminar.  If you need some motivation & inspiration to live healthier, you should be coming.  Suggested donation $5.   Class starts at 6:30pm and is over always by 9.  Convenient Location: near Fulton & Alta Arden.

3.  I have attended at least a dozen raw food prep workshops in the past 4 years.  The one I attended this weekend in Reno was 10 times better than all the rest put together.  It was absolutely wonderful.  I wrote my Sister in China, "He made preparing raw foods so easy....So inspiring.  I learned how to make everything from soups to creams to cheeses, to pina coladas, to sea vegetable salads, to banana cream pies, to green drinks, crackers to fish cakes.  And, Dan Hoyt shared dozens of extremely practical chef's secrets."  Dan is the owner & head chef of Quintessence Restaurant in NYC.  Can you imagine the scale of their operation:   they order 40 cases of coconuts a day!  (9 coconuts per case)!   Here is the description of the Weekend Workshop.  But, you might want to view these photos of the workshop.  If enough folks in Sacramento would be interested, I would begin working with Quintessence to bring Dan here to Sacramento.  We would need 20 individuals.  I will try to add a page to our website with many of the valuable tips I learned this weekend.
