Christian
Blackburn explains what he brought to the November 2 potluck in West
Sacramento. The counter was loaded with tasty dishes. Larry
and Diane Walters hosted this potluck at their home in West Sacramento which had
over 40 people in attendance.
We're nearing the
end of the year 2003 and special thanks are due to the following people who
opened their homes in 2003 for a Raw Food Potluck. Kim
Berry & Tess Pitoy Adair
Schwarz Margaret
Williams Susan
Wang Gordon &
Gladys Callander Marlowe
Allenbright Roberta
Baily & Paul Wulff Juleen
Stenzel Larry &
Diane Walters The 100 or more of
us who have actively participated in potlucks this year are very appreciative.
Without their generosity, we would not have enjoyed the many fun Raw Sacramento
events. There are some
other folks who have been especially helpful in contributing their time to Raw
Sacramento this year in any number of ways. These include: Pam
Benson Juleen
Stenzel Larry &
Diane Walters Adair
Schwarz Shar
Martinez Jay
Soduski Veronika
Clay Marilyn
Littlejohn Gordon

Can you help Raw
Sacramento? Here are 3 ways
you could help Raw Sacramento: 1. Event
Coordinator (for 1 event in January) Would you like to
help Raw Sacramento? We need a volunteer to be an Event Manager for 1 event.
The event will be a presentation by Paul Nison, author of The Raw Life.
He would like to speak in Sacramento on January 19. The event manager
would need to make arrangements, publicize the event, arrange for catering of a
raw food meal or dessert. The event coordinator would need to attend the next 2
Steering Committee Meetings at the Co-op (Dec. 2 and Jan. 6). The event
manager would need to be in touch with Paul Nison (helping him with hotel / or
guest accommodation), and would need to start immediately putting into place the
location, publicity, and venue details. 2. Hosting a
2004 Potluck I have updated our
potluck schedule indicating the dates in 2004
for potlucks. What we need now are homes at which we could have these
potlucks. Our participation is trending up—our last potluck had 40
individuals. If you are the host, you do not need to prepare a dish. And,
you don't need to drive. The food comes to you! Here's some
information about hosting a potluck.
3. Writing a Raw Food Testimony
Have you eaten exclusively Raw Foods for at least 2 months? Did you
experience any health improvements? Would you be willing to write a 'Raw
Food Testimony?" We would like to post more of these. If you
have concrete, documentable health improvements and can write a few paragraphs
about your experience, it may influence and help others. Would you please
send us
your Testimony?
Our next regular Monthly Raw Potluck will be Our Annual Holiday
Dessert Potluck. Location will be announced very soon. Keep
the date: December 7 at 4:30pm.
Our Steering Committee will meet next
on Tuesday, December 2 at the Co-op Dining Area at 5:30pm.
All Raw Sacramento members are welcome and encouraged to attend. We
always need volunteers for special projects such as the Event Coordinator for
Paul Nison's visit.
Do you need a personal raw food coach? We have a couple
in Sacramento. Here's Shar.
Here's Maya.
